Spicy Mushroom

Edible mushrooms are used extensively in cooking, in many cuisines. Whenever I leave to supermarket, I get a  good packet of mushrooms... I used button mushrooms, but if you use larger mushrooms, chop them roughly instead of slicing. However, this is actually a fantastic recipe and it didn’t take long to cook up.  And the flavor outstanding.  Really earthy and rich and just…yummmm

Ingredients
Quantity
Mushroom
200 gms
Green peas
½ cup
Fresh curd
1 cup/200gms
Onion
1 medium
Ginger paste
1 tbsp.
Garlic paste
1 tbsp.
Turmeric powder
¼ tsp.
Salt
To taste
Cilantro
½ cup
Roast and grind (powder form)
Chutney dal
½ cup
Peanuts
½ cup

To temper

Oil
2 tbsp.
Mustard seeds
½ tsp.
Peppercorns
1 tsp.
Clove
3
Cinnamon
1”stick
 
Method
1. Heat oil and add the whole spices so that it will blend with the oil to enhance the taste.

2. Now add mustard seeds and peppercorns. After popping, add chopped onion. Add ginger garlic paste and half the coriander and stir fry

3. Simultaneously, dry roast the peanuts and the chutney dal. Powder it aside.

4. Add powder mix and beaten curds, salt and turmeric powder. Stir for some time. Add mushrooms, little water and cook on low heat for 5- 10 minutes or till the gravy is semi solid in texture

5. Remove and garnish with remaining coriander leaves.
