Fruit Custard

Fruit custard is a very easy dessert that can be put together within minutes. Kids who refuse to eat fruits will definitely love to have this. I am a Fruit Lover.I eat all kind of fruits in any forms. Fruit custard is one of simplest and healthy dessert which loved by adults and kids both equally. You can serve as a dessert after meal.

Prep time: 10 mins | cook time: 10 mins

Cuisine :Indian Dessert

Ingredients
Quantity
Milk
2 cups+1/4 cup milk
Custard powder
3 tbsp.
Sugar
3 tbsp.
Vanilla essence
½ tsp(optional)
Chopped mixed fruits
1 cup
Dry fruits
¼ cup

Method

Chopped fruits: Apple, Pear, banana, pomegranate seeds

Dry fruits            : Cashews, Almonds

1. Mix custard powder and sugar together. Add 1 tablespoon of milk and mix well with a whisk without any lumps. Boil 1.5 cups of milk. Once it comes to a boil, add the custard mix. Simmer and mix well until it reaches thick consistency. The custard will thicken once it is chilled. So remove from flame just before the required consistency is reached. Allow to cool and refrigerate if required.

2. Meanwhile chop the fruits into small cubes (For apples, banana, and pears coat with little sugar to avoid discoloring).Arrange the fruits in the serving bowl and top it with required amount of custard usually serve with whipped cream or with vanilla ice cream. Tastes yummy…..

To serve
Add 1/2 cup of the fruit salad to a bowl and top off with 1/2 cup custard sauce the mixture will start thickening and keep stirring until to creamy texture.

Notes
Do not add watermelon and orange. They ooze out lots of liquid. Mix the fruits with custard only just before serving. If the fruits are already sweet, reduce the amount of sugar. The custard will get thickened on refrigerating also so the consistency should be a bit runny
