Chilli Bread - Left over Bread recipes


Chilly bread is one of the easy snack recipe which can be made in jiffy. You can make this chili bread with the left over breads also. You can use any variety of bread as per your wish. Bread chilli is a simple and easy breakfast recipe enjoyed by kids. This can be made easily with few ingredients which is available at our kitchen. I have not used any sauces today .So a much healthier version of bread. So let’s quickly go thru the recipe of chilli bread!!

Ingredients
  • Bread – 4 slices
  • butter -1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds – ¼ tsp
  • Chopped garlic -3 cloves
  • Chopped ginger – 1”piece
  • Green chillies – 2 nos
  • Dry Red chilli flakes -2 nos
  • Curry leaves –few sprigs
  • Onions – 2  nos
  • Tomatoes -1 no
  • Capsicum -1 no
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Chilli powder -2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves - handful
  • Salt –to taste

 

Method

1. Toast all the bread slices with butter. Take a whole bread, cube them then do frying. Keep them aside. You can either toast bread in tawa or shallow fry or deep fry.



2. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, Ginger, Garlic, Green chilies, dry red chilies, curry leaves and mix well.



3. Add ginger garlic and sauté till the raw smell go off. Throw in finely chopped onions until translucent.



4. Add in the capsicums and sauté them a little, it should not become soft, it should be crunchy. Then, add tomato and sauté till it becomes mushy.



5. Now add turmeric and chilli powder and gently give a mix.


6. cook until oil separates from it. 


7.. Finally add the toasted bread pieces and coat it well with the masala.


8. Give a quick mix.


9.Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.Our spicy chilli bread is ready.

Notes

Don't add to much water, because it will make the bread mushy.

Crunchier capsicum will tastes good.
