Jamun
or Indian blackberry is also called Jambu in Gujarati, Jamun in Hindi &
Marathi, Perinnaral in Malayalam, Jamo in Oriya, Neredum in Tamil, Kalajam in
Bengali, Neereedi n Telugu and Black plum or Java plum in English.
I
removed the seeds, crushed them a bit, poured water and let them steep for an
hour in the fridge. Then I added a dash of lemon, sugar and a touch of salt. It
was wonderfully refreshing. The color gets more intense when the fruit becomes
fully ripe.

Method
1. To use the black plum as Juice you will have to
remove the seed, which can be a bit tedious. Some come out easier when pressing
through the fingers (like olives), some simply don't want to part from their
cores
2. Once the berries are decored, add them to a mixer
and throw in the water and sugar. I always add salt, sugar for the taste, but
you can always leave the sweetening out. A teaspoon of lemon juice can be added
to enhance taste.
