  • Chocolate chips – 1 tbsp.(optional)

Method

1.Make sure the mug you are using is microwave safe.

2.In a microwave safe mug, mix together the dry ingredients - flour, cocoa powder, salt and baking powder until they are evenly mixed.

3.Pour in the oil, milk and vanilla into the mug with the dry ingredients and stir well with a spoon.

4.Put the mug in the microwave and heat on the highest setting for around 45 seconds.

5.It will likely be a little undercooked in the middle at this point, which is my preference, but if you want it cooked more, microwave it another 10-20 seconds. Put in microwave for 2 minutes.Check if your cake is done by inserting a toothpick in the center. Allow the cake to cool down and enjoy the delicious chocolate chip mug cake!
Notes
  • Top with the remaining one tablespoon of semi-sweet chocolate chips and microwave in high powder for 3 minutes until the cake is cooked and soft.
  • Make your chocolate mug cake more by adding a tablespoon of hazelnut spread to the batter.
  • For more flavor and texture, add a half to one tablespoon of chopped walnuts to your cake batter.
