Apricot Fruit Sheera

Apricots and Almonds are most liked dry fruits in the world. The  juicy texture of apricot and fruits form a divine dessert. The powerful antioxidants found in apricots help protect the body from free radical activity and damage to cells and DNA. B17 has been noted for both its cancer-fighting potential as well as its supposed toxic effect on humans. Apricots are a good source of vitamin C and a great source of vitamin A.It is great for digestion and helps balance the metabolism and maintain a healthy body weight. Apricots contain a good amount of iron and copper, both of which may help in the formation of hemoglobin.

Apricots are a low calorie, nutrient rich food source that may be a great addition to any weight loss program. In addition, the fiber in apricots may help to maintain a healthy weight level. The apricot is often overlooked in favor of other common fruits such as the apple, pear, orange or banana. But the apricot is just as healthy as those other fruits, in some cases even healthier. Aside from the many health benefits of the apricot, it is also a wonderful diet food, providing a large amount of healthful nutrition to the body as well as keeping down caloric intake, as they are very low in calories as compared to other fruits.

Like apples or oranges, there are several different varieties of apricot, but you will typically find only one or two types to choose from in your local supermarket or fruit stand, depending upon your location. Appearing as small, golden-orange fruits, they all share the same particular health benefits, so it’s really just a matter of taste as to which type of apricot you would favor. Many consumers enjoy apricots as a dried fruit. Dried apricots last longer and can be easily packed away as a snack for dieters on the go. In fact, 2-3 apricots will give you nearly 50% of your daily value of Vitamin A. Apricots contain no fat and a small amount of carbs. Apricots can be enjoyed in cakes and pies, with ice cream or sorbets and yogurt, as a jam or jelly, used as a sauce or as a fruit topping for salads, cereal, pancakes, and other foods.

Ingredients

Apricot
5 nos
Banana
1 no
Roasted semolina
1 cup
Mango
¾ cup
Sugar
½ cup
Food color(yellow)
Pinch
Cardamom powder
¼ tsp
Ghee
¼ cup
Cashews
Handful
To garnish
Almonds grated
2 tbsp
Pistachios
2 tbsp
Method
1. Soak apricot for 6 hours in bowl and then boil apricot for 10- 15 mins till it becomes mushy.Chop mango and banana pieces.Heat 2 tsp. ghee in a heavy-based medium size pan and fry the rava on medium heat. 2. Reduce the sugar amount because the fruits are already sweet.In the same pan, throw some cashews, followed by mangoes, banana and apricot pieces. Stir for some time. Add water, sugar, yellow food color, cardamom powder, cashew nuts mix well. 3. Add the remaining 2 tbsp. ghee and cook until it leaves the sides of the pan, or for about 2 to 3 minutes. 4. Garnish with cashews, almonds and pistacios.
Notes
  •  Nutmeg powder can also be added. Using cardamom powder will do good coz everyone has at home for sure.
  • Almonds and pistachios gives a rich look.
  • Soaking apricot reduces the cooking time. Don’t throw the soaking water. Use it for cooking.
